From its busy shelter in Jasper County the Carthage Humane Society is home to so many homeless, neglected - but wonderful - companion animals. It also plays an ever-evolving role as mediator on the changing relationship between people and animals.


Since 1948, the Humane Society has reached out to those who enjoy and employ animals, as well as those people who love and share their lives with them.

As an animal welfare organization, the Society is also very much a people business; supporting and promoting the human-animal bond.

The Society's mission — to provide a safe haven for animals entrusted to our care —is a joyful one full of challenges and opportunities.

Effective April 9 2012,summer hours will be 12:00 - 6:00 p.m. Monday -Friday; and 12:00 - 4:00 on Saturday.
